Good for long-term storage, had a couple with the bottom seam split, however was promptly refunded for those. Overall pleased with the quality and looks after placing a board and comic inside. Will buy more in the future!

It's hard to beat how good a book looks in this bag. Add to that the stiffness it adds, you really can fall in love with a book all over again. That all being said, you must put up with a few quirks. As mentioned, the edges tear very easily if you don't put a board or book in straight. I've started keeping a little packing tape snippets handy to fix rips so I don't waste bags. The tape is clear and small so I don't notice it, but it's annoying. Also, since you must pre-crease the flap before storing a book, it can be tricky getting it in there with a sturdy bent flap pressing against the book threatening to bend the spine. Finally, if you decide to use the .40 super-acid free boards, you will need to bounce the bag against a soft surface (carpeted floor) to get the book to he bottom. Doing so can cause the bottom seam to rupture if you don't hit it square. I also feel that the snugness might cause the cover to tilt slightly away from the pages on the bottom right corner. All in all, a great bag if you do it right. (about 3 out of 5 tries are perfect). My advice, practice with a few throw-away books first! P.S. Silver age books will fit in this bag, but if you use a backing board, it's a tight fit, but doable. FYI

i've been using these a lot. a few have split at the seams, but only a couple out of like 50. i prefer 4mil as it's thick enough to not need a backing board.
