Postcard Backings come in three grades of board:

Economy: 0.030" thick, pH neutral chipboard, white one side. Short-term storage.
Standard Acid-free: 0.028" thick, acid-free cardboard, white two sides. Long-term storage.
Super-Archival: 0.040" thick, 100% Alpha Cellulose board, all-white, acid-free, Lignin-free (alkaline pH 8.5). Conservation grade. Indefinite storage.
