Comic Book Backings & MicroChamber Paper

Comic Backings material thickness comparison chart.Comic Book Backing Boards are essential for keeping your comic books in prime condition. Their fundamental function is acting as a stiffener and edge & corner protector. However, the best protection for your comics is boards that are acid-free and/or buffered. The acid-free board absorbs acids in the paper, and buffered backings block acids from entering the book. MicroChamber paper has a similar function but contains dispersed molecular traps that remove and neutralize acids, pollutants, and the harmful by-products of deterioration.

We stock three types of materials for comic book protection

INVISIBOARD® Crystal-Clear Comic Backings allow viewing of both the front and back of the comic book without having to remove it from the comic book sleeve. Made from archival PETG rigid plastic (Mylar family). Archival, acid-free, impact resistant, fully recyclable. MicroChamber Paper is a very thin, nearly transparent, interleaving paper that contains dispersed molecular traps that remove and neutralize acids, pollutants, and the harmful by-products of deterioration. Insert one or two sheets in your comics and know that you are effectively practicing preventive conservation for your collection. It also eliminates odors such as smoke, mold, and mildew. Our Comic Book Backing Boards** are specifically designed to fit into OUR poly bags. Placing a backing board behind your comic, then putting it inside a poly bag helps prevent the comic spine from crushing and the comic pages from crimping or wrinkling.

2. Long-Term Storage- SBS Board .024" thick. Double-White. Coated one side. Coated side is acid-free.
