Comic Book Backing Boards are essential for keeping your comic books in prime condition. Their fundamental functions are acting as a stiffener and edge & corner protector. However, the best protection for your comics is boards that are acid-free and/or buffered. The acid-free board absorbs acids in the paper, and buffered backings block acids from entering the book. MicroChamber paper has a similar function but contains dispersed molecular traps that remove and neutralize acids, pollutants, and the harmful by-products of deterioration.
