ARCHIVAL POLYESTER SLEEVES & CONSERVATION GRADE BACKINGS FOR NEWSPAPERS
Our Museum Grade ArchivalPolyester (Mylar) SLeeves for Tabloids and Newspapers are made of 4 mil Polyester (Mylar). Polyester is an inert material of the highest clarity. It will not discolor, damage, or adhere to items placed inside it. This sturdy film beautifully displays, timelessly protects, and gives extra support to fragile documents. It is the only material recommended by the Library of Congress for theIndefinite Storage of paper products.
The corresponding Conservation Grade Backings are made from .40 point thick, 100% Alpha Cellulose board. This board is buffered with calcium carbonate, which keeps the board from breaking down (indefinitely). It is acid-free (alkaline 8.0 - 9.0), lignin-free, contaminant free. Backings made from this material are suitable for conservation. Meets the Library of Congress Archival Standards for Indefinite Storage.
