I've been using U-Haul Record Moving Boxes to store my LPs. These are far better. No cardboard dust. Sturdy, they place no pressure on the records. Taller, so there is more headroom on top of the albums. A lid, which makes it far easier to get inside. And of course they are chemically safer for the LPs inside. If the handles getting in the way is a problem, either don't pop them open, trim them off or tape them outside. I'll be putting all my LPs, 45s and even CDs in these.

I find these boxes good. The only way to make them better would be to make them out of wood or metal and with handles sticking out, which would waste more space.

These boxes are far superior to your corrugated cardboard boxes. I wish the hand grips wouldn't make record storage so difficult at times. It would be nice if they could fold up into another slot or that the hand grips were front and back rather than side to side so as not to impact the albums. Otherwise they stack great and are easy to tote.

Generally a good storage container. I probably would recommend them for everyday use with LPs with record jacket sleeves. Also noticed that the fold in handles were a bit awkward to fold in. I will probably try the regular cardboard box nest time.
